A new independent bakery is set to open its doors in Harrogate tomorrow – and every customer will receive a free brownie while stocks last.
Mad Hadders will officially open from 10am on Saturday at Cawthorn Avenue, serving breakfasts, lunches and a range of homemade bakes.
The business is run by husband-and-wife team Nick and René.
The pair decided to leave full-time employment behind to open their first premises after two summers selling brownies, cookies and cakes at pop-up events and markets under the name "Nick's Bakes".
René said:
"Nick's always had a passion for baking and for the last two summers has been doing pop-ups and markets selling brownies, cookies and cakes as 'Nick's Bakes'.
"This year we have decided to take the plunge and go 100% head first into getting into a premises, giving up full-time employment."
Mad Hadders will be serving breakfasts, lunches and all of Nick's Bakes.

The pair added:
"Our aim is to give good value products at good value prices. We are very much looking forward to serving the local community.
"Deliveries will also become available very soon."
To mark the opening, every customer visiting on Saturday will receive a free brownie while stocks last.
The bakery opens at 10am on Saturday 18th July on Cawthorn Avenue.
