Police are appealing for information about a hate crime that occurred on Walworth Avenue in Harrogate.
It happened at around 7:30pm on Thursday 2nd July, between Walworth Avenue and a ginnel that runs towards Knaresborough Road.
It involved a woman described as being in her late 40s or early 50s with blonde hair, wearing sunglasses and a short-sleeve white top with sand-colour shorts and carrying a shopping bag.
The victim, who walks with a crutch due to a disability, was approached by the woman who verbally abused him, specifically targeting this disability, causing significant distress.
A police spokesperson said:
“We’re particularly appealing for information for anyone who witnessed anything, or may have CCTV or video doorbell coverage in the area.”
