Harrogate Town have signed Middlesbrough midfielder Brayden Johnson on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old joins Town after gaining first-team experience during loan spells with Gateshead and Kidderminster.
Johnson caught the attention of Middlesbrough following a breakout season with Eastbourne Borough, making more than 30 appearances for the National League South side during the 2024/25 campaign.
He signed for Middlesbrough in January 2025 and has since continued his development with the Championship club.
Harrogate Town Head of Player Recruitment Lloyd Kerry believes Johnson will add energy to the club's midfield.
He said:
“He’s an athletic, ball-winning type, an all-action midfielder who will bring a lot of energy.
“His style of play is something we need in the middle of the park, he played 60 minutes for Middlesbrough’s 21s this week so he’s fit, ready to go and we think he’ll hit the ground running.”
Johnson will wear the number 25 shirt and is available for Town's lunchtime clash with Barrow this weekend, subject to FA and National League approval.
