Students at Harrogate Grammar School are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results today.
The school has reported another year of strong results, with 80 per cent of its cohort of 289 students achieving five or more standard passes, including English and mathematics.
A total of 23 students achieved four or more grade 9s – the highest grade available.
One student achieved ten grade 9s, three students secured nine grade 9s and two achieved eight.
Overall, 34 per cent of all grades awarded at the school were at the highest levels of 9 to 7.
Around 80 per cent of the year group are expected to continue their education at Harrogate Grammar School Sixth Form.
Others will progress to college courses, apprenticeships and training.
Headteacher Neil Renton said:
“Today we celebrate another year of strong GCSE outcomes and a year group who demonstrated determination, ambition and resilience throughout their time at Harrogate Grammar School.
“Seeing so many students achieve exceptional results and secure exciting next steps is a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support of their families and colleagues.
“We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to seeing many of them continue their educational journey with us in the Sixth Form.”
Assistant Headteacher and Director of Key Stage 4 Nik Mason added:
“This cohort has been a pleasure to work with and today is a celebration of everything they have achieved.
“They approached their studies with commitment whilst also making a significant contribution to the wider life of the school.
“We are delighted to see their efforts rewarded and look forward to seeing all that they will achieve in the years ahead.”
The school has congratulated its students and thanked families and staff for their support throughout their GCSE studies.
