Rossett School celebrates strong GCSE and BTEC results

Rossett School pupils with their GCSE results.

Students at Rossett School are celebrating after receiving their GCSE and BTEC results today (Thursday).

The Harrogate school has reported strong results for its Class of 2026, with 70 per cent of students achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and mathematics.

Across all GCSE subjects, 74 per cent of grades awarded were at grade 4 or above, while 60 per cent were at grade 5 or above.

The school also recorded a 97 per cent pass rate across its BTEC qualifications.

More than half (52 per cent) of BTEC grades were awarded at Merit, Distinction or Distinction* level.

Headteacher Tim Milburn praised the achievement, determination and character shown by Year 11 students.

He said:

“Results day is always a special moment, and it has been wonderful to see our students celebrating the rewards of their hard work and commitment.

“These outcomes represent years of dedication, perseverance and ambition, and I am immensely proud of everything our young people have achieved.”

Students will now progress to a range of destinations including sixth forms, apprenticeships, college courses and training opportunities.

Mr Milburn added:

“While today’s results are an important milestone, they tell only part of the story.

“We are equally proud of the outstanding character our students have demonstrated throughout their time at Rossett School.

“They have embodied our five Rs by being Respectful, Responsible, Ready to Learn, Resilient and Reflective.

“These qualities have helped them overcome challenges, support one another and make the most of every opportunity available to them.

“The Class of 2026 leaves Rossett not only with strong qualifications but also with the personal values, confidence and determination that will enable them to thrive in the future.”

Mr Milburn also thanked parents, carers and staff for their support and congratulated students on their achievements.
