Students at St Aidan's Church of England High School are celebrating after the school recorded some of its best-ever GCSE results.
The Harrogate school said many of its headline measures have reached their highest levels on record following results day today (Thursday).
Nearly 90 per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths.
Students also achieved grade 7 – equivalent to the former grade A – or above across every subject offered by the school, while a number secured multiple grades 8 and 9.
The school said the results reflected the dedication, resilience and ambition of its Class of 2026, with some students overcoming significant challenges to achieve grades beyond their expectations.
Siân Dover, Headteacher at St Aidan's, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled with these results and immensely proud of every one of our students.
“This year's outcomes are among the strongest in the history of St Aidan's and, on many headline measures, represent the best results the school has ever achieved.
“These exceptional outcomes are the result of years of hard work, determination and resilience from our students, supported by talented and dedicated staff and families who have encouraged them every step of the way.
“We are particularly delighted that so many students have not only achieved excellent grades but have surpassed their own expectations.
“Today is a celebration of their success, and they should all be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.”
Jane Goodwin, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, said the results were a “tremendous achievement” for the school.
She said:
“To achieve record-breaking outcomes is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the strength of leadership, the quality of teaching and the determination of students to be the very best they can be.
“I congratulate every student on their achievements and thank the staff, families and governors whose support has helped make this success possible.”

Students will now progress to the next stage of their education following what the school described as a record-breaking year.
