A weekend of steam trains, real ales and live music is coming to the Yorkshire Dales as the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway gets set to host its Branch Line Weekend & Beer Festival.
The event will see an intensive timetable of heritage trains running along the line, with a mixture of steam and diesel locomotives taking passengers through the Dales.
The railway’s home fleet will be out in force, including a Class 37, Class 20 and two steam locomotives, which are still to be confirmed.
Visitors can also travel in the railway’s restored ‘Blood and Custard’ Mark 1 coaches, or opt for a journey aboard its vintage carriage set.
The vintage set includes GNR 3087, the LNWR Directors’ Saloon and the ever-popular Thompson Bar.
The Thompson Bar will be serving 25 real ales throughout the weekend, alongside craft gins, rums and other drinks.Ri
Live music will also be taking place throughout the weekend, adding to the atmosphere and giving visitors even more reason to stick around.
Whether you’re a railway enthusiast, a real ale fan or looking for something different to do with the family, the Branch Line Weekend & Beer Festival promises a weekend packed with heritage, music and plenty of trains.
You can find out more about the event, including tickets and the timetable, on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway website.
