Harrogate Convention Centre.

Harrogate Convention Centre has secured a major international medical conference expected to boost the local economy by more than £600,000.

The venue will host the 14th Meeting of the International Society of Systemic Autoinflammatory Diseases (ISSAID) from 7th to 10th April 2027.

Hundreds of clinicians, researchers and other medical professionals from around the world are expected to attend the four-day event.

Previous editions of the biennial conference have been held in cities including Paris and Toronto.

Professor Helen Lachmann, ISSAID 2027 Co-Chair, said:

“We are particularly delighted to host ISSAID’s 14th Bi-Annual Meeting at Harrogate Convention Centre, in a town known for its heritage of medicine, wellbeing and hospitality.

“It provides the perfect setting for sharing knowledge and strengthening collaborations.”

The booking was secured through a contract with global marketing and engagement agency MCI.

Jamila Bray, Head of Venue Sales and Marketing at Harrogate Convention Centre, said:

“Welcoming ISSAID to Harrogate in 2027 is fantastic news for the town, as it is expected to attract hundreds of international medical professionals to our hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions.

“The ISSAID conference adds to a growing calendar of national and international business events held at Harrogate Convention Centre, delivering a significant boost to local business tourism.”
