Harrogate MP vows to take hospitality concerns to Parliament

Harrogate MP Tom Gordon (centre, back) held a roundtable with business owners.

Hospitality businesses across Harrogate and Knaresborough are being invited to help shape calls for change in Parliament.

Local MP Tom Gordon has launched a survey asking cafés, bars, hotels and other businesses about the pressures they face and what the Government could do differently.

It follows a roundtable discussion at North Bar in Harrogate, where the Liberal Democrat MP heard directly from business owners and operators across the constituency.

The meeting brought together representatives from cafés, bars, hotels and merchants, alongside co-hosts Harrogate BID and Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Gordon said:

“The roundtable was a great opportunity to listen to the challenges and opportunities facing the hospitality sector in our towns.

“I want to hear from as many businesses in the area as possible, which is why I’ve launched my survey.

“They’re the lifeblood of our towns and every response will help me raise concerns in Parliament, with ministers and campaign for changes that make a difference.”

The survey invites businesses to share what is working well, the challenges affecting them and the changes they would like ministers to make.
