Reach Education and Employment guides people with learning disabilities to sustainable employment.

A new project is aiming to help people take their next steps towards education, training or employment.

Reach Education and Employment has secured funding to launch “Hear My Voice”, a 14-week programme offering practical activities and one-to-one support.

The project is aimed at people who are not currently in education, employment or training, helping them build confidence while supporting their community.

During the first seven weeks, participants will explore local charities and causes, choose a project to support and organise a fundraising activity.

The second half will focus on the workplace, giving participants opportunities to meet local employers, share their experiences and learn about workplace inclusion.

They will also create an employer awareness campaign and present their ideas at a “Hear My Voice” event.

Throughout the programme, participants will have access to individual support to help them work towards their goals and overcome barriers.

Activities are designed to develop skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, organisation and digital confidence.

Reach Education and Employment was founded in April 2026 by directors Jade Wilson and Christopher Murray to help people with learning disabilities and neurodivergent conditions move towards sustainable employment.

The organisation combines preparation for work with support around education, independence, safety and emotions.

“Hear My Voice” broadens that support to others who are not currently in education, employment or training.

Funding has been secured through Better Connect via the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
