Residents in Dacre and the surrounding area are celebrating after sharing a £1million Postcode Lottery prize.
The village’s HG3 4AP postcode was announced as a Millionaire Street winner on Sunday (25th October), with one lucky player scooping more than £378,000.
A further 88 players across the wider HG3 4 postcode sector are sharing more than £620,000.
They will each receive between £6,155 and £18,465, depending on how many tickets they hold.
Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said:
“Dacre may be a small village, but it now has a million reasons to think big.”
She congratulated all 89 winners and expressed hope that the community would come together to celebrate.
Dacre, which has fewer than 800 residents, overlooks the River Nidd in Nidderdale and attracts walkers and cyclists exploring the surrounding countryside.
