Tesco Harrogate is inviting shoppers to donate Christmas gifts for local people through its Community Christmas Giving Tree.
The tree is now in store, with customers encouraged to choose a gift tag and purchase the items requested.
The initiative supports local charities and community groups, including IDAS, Artizan International and New Beginnings Peer Support.
Gift requests include cosy blankets, fluffy socks, sweet treats and toiletries, with each tag outlining what is needed.
A spokesperson for Tesco Harrogate said:
“The Giving Tree has been set up to bring our local community together this Christmas by helping support local charities and community groups through thoughtful gifts for people who may need a little extra comfort, kindness, or support over the festive period.”
Customers should read their chosen tag carefully, checking any age, size or other requirements before buying their gift.
Donations must be new and unused, left unwrapped in their original packaging and returned to the store’s customer service desk by 1st December.
Shoppers are also asked to return the gift tag so staff can match their donation to the correct request. Cash and gift cards should not be included.
The Tesco team will check and sort donations before distributing them to the participating organisations.
The spokesperson added:
“We’re really excited to see the community get involved and hope the initiative will help make Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most.”
