The Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show is returning to Harrogate Convention Centre next week.
Back from Friday 30th October until Sunday 1st November, the event will bring together more than 250 exhibitors alongside property experts offering advice on renovations, extensions and self-build projects.
Visitors will be able to explore thousands of home products, attend seminars and book individual advice sessions.
Research from the show suggests 76% of visitors already have a project underway, with average project budgets of £149,000.
Those surveyed were spending approximately £64,000 on renovations, £116,000 on extensions and £379,000 on building a home from scratch.
Michael Holmes, a property expert appearing at this year’s event, said:
“A budget of this size represents one of the largest financial commitments most homeowners will ever make, after buying the property itself.
“Yet people can lose thousands through inadequate specifications, unrealistic allowances or decisions made in the wrong order.
“Getting the design, costs and permissions properly assessed before work begins can make the difference between a successful project and one that runs out of money before completion.”
Daily talks in the Seminar Theatre will cover reducing fuel bills, extension design, planning permission, kitchens and beginners’ guides to self-building and self-build mortgages.

Visitors can also learn about low-carbon heating and energy systems, including heat pumps, solar power, battery storage and smart controls.
The Korniche-sponsored Masterclass Theatre will host presentations on choosing doors and windows, laying foundations, restoring period properties and arranging finance and insurance.
Meanwhile, the Advice Centre will offer bookable 15-minute appointments for visitors seeking guidance on their own projects.
Experts taking part include home improvement specialist Michael Holmes, heating expert David Hilton, architect Allan Corfield, planning experts Sally Tagg and Simon Rix, finance expert Tom McSherry and self-build expert Mark Stevenson.
The show will open from 10am until 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 10am until 4:30pm on Sunday.
Tickets are priced at £12 per person for any one day, with free tickets available here.
