Free art workshops to celebrate Harrogate's heritage in Valley Gardens

A free art workshop is being held in Harrogate's Valley Gardens this week.

Free art workshops celebrating Harrogate's heritage are coming to Valley Gardens this week.

Harrogate Stories will be held at the bandstand on Thursday 29th October, from 1pm to 4pm.

Organised by Harrogate Town Council and Yorkshire CREATE, the community event invites residents and visitors of all ages to explore the town’s history and character through hands-on creative activities.

Workshops will include printmaking and mosaic making, with opportunities for participants to learn new skills and create artwork to take home.

Visitors will also be able to contribute to collaborative pieces, including a mosaic celebrating Valley Gardens and a map of memories of Harrogate.

These shared artworks will form part of an exhibition celebrating the town’s past, present and future, bringing together stories and perspectives from across the community.

A Harrogate Town Council spokesperson said:

“The event encourages people to connect with their surroundings, share ideas and help tell the story of Harrogate through art.”

The event is open to experienced artists and those simply looking to try something new, with all activities free.
