Several trees have been brought down at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate following yesterday’s storm.
Teams have been working from first light to assess the damage, clear debris and make the garden safe after Storm Boelo.
A spokesperson for RHS Garden Harlow Carr said:
“The aftermath of yesterday's storm has left its mark across RHS Garden Harlow Carr, with several trees lost and debris scattered throughout the garden.
“While it's always sad to see mature trees brought down, we're incredibly grateful that everyone remained safe.
"Our teams have been hard at work since first light, assessing damage, clearing debris and helping to make the garden safe again.”
Many of the trees lost had stood for decades, providing habitats for wildlife and forming part of the garden’s landscape.
The spokesperson added:
“Trees are such an important part of RHS Harlow Carr's landscape, and losing them is never easy.
"Many have stood here for decades, providing beauty, habitat and enjoyment for generations of visitors.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding while we carry out this important work.”
