Harrogate Homeless Project has launched this year's Christmas Tree Giving Appeal.
They’re asking for donations to help someone start a life beyond homelessness and make a “real difference” to vulnerable people who are facing, or are at risk of becoming homeless in the Harrogate district.
Donations of just £10 will allow the charity to do just that, with donators given the opportunity to leave a message on one of the charity’s wooden house tree decorations.
A spokesperson for the charity said:
“No one should be on their own at Christmas and certainly not without a warm roof over their head and food to eat.
“By making a suggested donation of £10, you will have the opportunity to leave a message on one of our wooden house tree decorations.
“These will then get hung on our Christmas Tree throughout the month of December at our Springboard Day Centre.
“Decorate our tree with hope this Christmas!”
As a special touch, they’ll be asking clients to write messages onto the decorations and hang them on the tree.
This way, they will directly experience the care you have shown and know there are people out there who want to make a difference.
Ex-client Christine said:
“During my time at Harrogate Homeless Project, I experienced true kindness, the people who work here are just amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble.
“I never felt judged, just supported and helped with regaining my confidence. Thank you HHP!”
Nicola Ridgway, Fundraising and Marketing Manager for HHP said:
“It is so important to be raising awareness around the issues of homelessness and the challenges faced by people in Harrogate, particularly at this time of year.
“Our clients often feel isolated and alone, and what better way to show you care, by sending a special Christmas message to get hung on our Christmas Tree.
“Your support is always very much appreciated, but even more so at this time of year.”
