Historic Harrogate hotel put up for sale for £1.45million

A 19-bedroom hotel in Harrogate has been put on the market for £1.45million.

The freehold of Ascot House Hotel on King’s Road is being marketed by specialist property agent Christie & Co.

The hotel, which is currently not trading, includes 19 en-suite bedrooms, two function rooms and a restaurant with space for 35 diners.

The stone building also has a private car park and an outdoor terrace with seating.

Guest accommodation is spread across three floors, with reception, dining and function areas on the ground floor.

The sales listing states:

“Ascot House Hotel historically had an excellent reputation as a hospitality business.”

Christie & Co says the restaurant and function rooms offer opportunities for additional income, while a buyer could also consider operating the property as an aparthotel or accommodation requiring fewer staff.

Alternative uses, including residential conversion, could be explored subject to planning permission.

The property is close to Harrogate Convention Centre, with Harrogate Civic Centre immediately behind it.
