Rudding Park’s Adam Degg has been shortlisted for Hotel Restaurant Chef of the Year at the 2026 Hotel Cateys.
The Head Chef and Host at FIFTY TWO is one of four finalists competing for the national award. Winners will be announced at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel on Monday 23rd November.
Sharing the news on Rudding Park’s social media, Adam said:
“I'm going to the Oscars... of hospitality! The Hotel Cateys shortlist has just been announced... and word from the red carpet is, I'm a finalist for Hotel Restaurant Chef of the Year.
“The ceremony takes place in London on 23 November. Thankfully it's a Monday, which means I'll have plenty of time to recover - whatever the result!
“Huge shout out to Other Adam, my team, Emma, her Kitchen Garden team and team Rudding - it's a brilliant group effort.”
Adam is shortlisted alongside Jean Delport of Restaurant Interlude in Horsham, Adam Reid of Adam Reid at The French in Manchester, and Tom Tsappis of Killiecrankie House in Pitlochry.
FIFTY TWO opened in May 2024 and was awarded its first Michelin star earlier this year.
Before opening the restaurant, Adam worked at London venues including Wild Honey and Chiltern Firehouse. He later became Head Chef at Rudding Park’s Horto, where he earned three AA Rosettes and appeared on Great British Menu.
FIFTY TWO takes its name from the number of raised beds in Rudding Park’s Kitchen Garden, with dishes using produce grown on site alongside ingredients from local suppliers.
Guests dine around an open kitchen, with no menu provided in advance and Adam acting as both chef and host throughout the experience.
