Runners for Great North Run raise over £17,000 Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Yorkshire Air Ambulance is now looking ahead to next year's Great North Run.

Runners taking on this year's Great North Run have raised more than £17,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The charity has thanked everyone who represented it in the famous half marathon, with money raised helping to keep its lifesaving service flying across Yorkshire.

Participants completed the 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields earlier this month after months of training and fundraising.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance said:

“A huge thank you to everyone who took on the Great North Run for YAA this year!

“From the training miles to crossing that finish line, your incredible determination and fundraising have helped raise over £17,000 for YAA - helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and supporting patients across Yorkshire.

“We’re so proud of every one of you.”

The charity operates its emergency service across the whole of Yorkshire, responding to incidents where patients require urgent specialist care.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance is now looking ahead to next year's Great North Run, with applications to join its team for the 2027 event now open.

The charity is encouraging anyone inspired by this year's runners to register their interest in taking part and fundraising for YAA.
