Organisers of this year's Weeton Show are appealing for owners of vintage tractors and classic cars to get involved ahead of the annual community event later this month.
The popular rural show, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, returns on Saturday 19th July.
Organisers are hoping to boost entries in the classic vehicle display after seeing fewer registrations than in previous years.
Entertainment Co-ordinator Peter Laflin says the show is a fantastic day out for all the family and is organised entirely by volunteers from the local community.
He said:
"It's organised by the community. Everybody that's on the committee is helping out and they're all volunteers.
"It's a great way to celebrate living in a rural Yorkshire environment, but also giving back to the community as well. It's a brilliant event."
The show features plenty to keep visitors entertained, including dog shows, children's competitions, horticultural classes and traditional vegetable contests, alongside a variety of rural attractions.
Peter added:
"It's a great way to get people to come and see what it's like to live on the outskirts of Harrogate."
This year, organisers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with a classic car or vintage tractor who would like to display their vehicle.
Owners who take part will receive free entry to the show and can join a parade through the main ring at the end of the day.
Peter said the emphasis isn't on pristine concours-standard vehicles.
"The phrase is 'cherished, not polished.' This isn't a car show like Harewood House. We'd love to have some interesting cars, maybe with a backstory.
"If someone's found a Ford Orion tucked away in a garage somewhere, that's exactly the sort of thing we'd love to see."
He says vehicles with history and personality are exactly what visitors enjoy most.
"It doesn't need to be perfect. It's just about providing a little bit of interest to people on the show field.
"It's the same with the tractors. We'd love to have a few interesting older agricultural vehicles to add something different and entertain visitors."
Anyone interested in exhibiting a classic car or vintage tractor can register via the Weeton Show website before bringing their vehicle along on the day.
