A local non-profit is launching a new campaign to help people get outdoors and stay connected this winter.
Changing the Landscapes CIC’s ‘Winter Warmers’ campaign will run from November until February, encouraging residents to explore new places, try hobbies and spend time with friends, family and their community.
Launching on 1st November, the campaign will include a free competition inviting participants to complete challenges, take photos and tag the organisation on social media.
Alongside outdoor activities, challenges will encourage people to slow down, take time for themselves and prioritise their mental and physical wellbeing.
The organisation also has a series of community events planned for November, including a wellbeing walk in Knaresborough and a social climb at the Live for Today climbing wall.
Changing the Landscapes CIC works to help people access outdoor activities they might otherwise miss out on, running activity, education and advocacy projects to address barriers to participation.
Local businesses are being invited to support the Winter Warmers campaign through donations and other contributions.
Anyone interested in supporting the campaign can email changingthelandscapes@outlook.com. Residents can also follow Changing the Landscapes on Instagram for details of the challenges and upcoming events.
