A new drama exploring the interwoven lives of strangers around the world is coming to Harrogate theatre before its New York debut.
Route set for Knaresborough Tractor Run 2024 The Knaresborough Tractor run committee has revealed the route for the annual event, which takes place on Sunday 17th March. The spectacle has become a permanent fixture in the local calendar and raises thousands for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The run usually takes place the second weekend in March, but due to Mother's Day and following an online vote, it was pushed back to 17th March. With the numbers that now take part, over 370 last year, the day begins at the showground in Harrogate and then weaves it's way through to Pateley Bridge for lunch, before setting off and heading back to Knaresborough. Committee chairman Steven Brown has been explaining to Your Harrogate the amount of planning it now takes:
"So last year we made the transition to be solely on our own, but this year we are fully independent out of our own right, so we've a lot of constitutions and a lot of policies that needed to be filled and done. We've set up as a CIC (Community Interest Company) and the paperwork and things involved in that, has taken months."All participants pay a fee to take part, plus extra for passengers, and if you wish to join the day, organisers encourage you to sign up online ahead of 17th, plus you can save too! £113,000 has been raised for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, since 2012, and in order for that total to keep rising, support along the route is always appreciated and makes it worth while. Although some disruption on the roads is inevitable, the route is designed to minimise hold-ups. Steven Brown explains the extra measures in place on leaving Pateley Bridge:
"We're very mindful that the A59 is shut and people will be coming through Greenhow, so we're going to run that as a stop and go method this time. You'll be brought down by two committee members, that'll then take traffic back up with them."Your Harrogate will be part of the convoy thanks to Ripon Farm Services and will be covering the day both on-air and online all thanks to our main sponsor, Simon Graeme Auto Service Centre.
