Comedian Jason Manford has given his 'honest' verdict on Leeds Bradford Airport - praising its staff but joking that the terminal could do with a refresh.
Speaking in a video shared on Instagram, the TV presenter and stand-up comedian described the airport as "perfect" for travellers who simply want to get away without the frills.
He said:
"I don't mean it in a disrespectful way. Leeds Bradford Airport is the perfect airport for people who have gone on holiday but don't need the airport to be nice.
"[They] don't need loads of options for food and shopping. Get in. Get on your plane. Get out.
"The staff are great. The whole place needs a paint job... But if you're not bothered about nice shops and restaurants, get in, get on your plane, get on holiday."
In a second video, Jason also referenced the airport's ongoing redevelopment.
He joked:
"A few of you mentioned that Bradford's had a £100 million regeneration recently... I guess £100 million doesn't get you as much as it used to."
However, he did praise one part of the terminal.
He added:
"To be fair, when I walked through and got to gate nine, there was a new bar there and that did look nice actually."
Leeds Bradford Airport is currently undergoing a major £100 million terminal regeneration programme, with improvements being introduced in phases while the airport remains open.
