The winning floats from this year's St Wilfrid's Procession in Ripon have been revealed following another colourful celebration of one of the city's oldest traditions.
Hundreds of people lined the streets on Saturday (1st August) as community groups, businesses and organisations took part in the 2026 procession, showcasing creative floats inspired by a range of themes.
Taking the top prize was Ripon City Swimming Club with its 'RIpOn DE JANEIRO' float, while the Lidster Family Float finished second with 'Durkan Shenanigans'.
Klasswerks claimed third place with 'Viva Las Vegas', followed by Ripon Farm Services in fourth with 'Car Wash'.

The award for Best Walking Float went to Hightimers for its 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' entry.
Speaking after the results were announced, Nicola Horner from Ripon City Swimming Club said:
“I’m still quite really emotional over it, and I know it sounds a really silly thing to do, but everybody puts their heart and soul into this.
“Every single person is a winner that took part and walked round that course today, or rode around it, or decorated a float.
“You are all winners because without every single one of us, we don't have this.”
The full results were:
- 1st: Ripon City Swimming Club – 'RIpOn DE JANEIRO'
- 2nd: Lidster Family Float – 'Durkan Shenanigans'
- 3rd: Klasswerks – 'Viva Las Vegas'
- 4th: Ripon Farm Services – 'Car Wash'
- Best Walking Float: Hightimers – 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'
Organisers thanked everyone who took part in this year's procession, praising the community's creativity, enthusiasm and effort.
They said the 2026 event was a wonderful celebration of community, creativity and tradition, adding that they look forward to seeing what participants come up with for next year's procession.
