Wetherby teenager Abby Strachan has managed to grow and donate 3ft of hair to support children going through cancer treatment.
Wetherby teen donates 3 feet of hair to children with cancer A Wetherby teenager has managed to grow and donate a whopping 3ft of hair to support children going through cancer treatment. 18-year-old Abby Strachan has been donating hair to The Little Princess Trust since she was just 9-years-old. She was inspired after seeing popstar Jessie J donate her hair as part of Comic Relief in 2013 and has continued her own support since. The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer. And Abby’s three donations over the years have now amassed 3 feet of hair - but she won’t be stopping there. The determined teenager plans to continue growing her hair whilst at university before making a fourth donation when she graduates. Abby’s mum, Claire Strachan, said:
“I think we might rename her Rapunzel!
