Popular Dog Day returns to Himalayan Garden near Ripon

Dog Day is returning to Himalayan Garden near Ripon.

A special day celebrating dogs and their owners is returning to the Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park near Ripon next month.

Dog Day will take place at the 45-acre attraction on Sunday 6th September, with a range of activities, demonstrations and a fun dog show.

The event is being organised alongside Positively Canine and will also raise awareness and funds for the Lost Dog Tracking Network (LDTN).

Visitors and their dogs will be able to try a range of activities designed for fun and enrichment throughout the day.

Members of the Lost Dog Tracking Network will demonstrate scent work, while Claire Brown, Great Britain's representative at the World IGP Championships for working dogs, will demonstrate dog obedience exercises.

Jo Brook from Positively Canine said:

“We are thrilled to be bringing Dog Day back to the Himalayan Gardens again. This year promises to be even better than last year’s event.

“We have a wide range of stalls for dogs and humans as well as a fun dog show, demonstrations of various dog activities and a chance to meet some of our tracking dogs and learn more about Lost Dog Tracking.

“As a tiny charity this is a fantastic chance for us to raise awareness of what we do and hopefully give everyone, humans, and dogs alike, a memorable day out!”

A variety of trade stands will also be selling dog-related merchandise, treats and other pet products, while a roving pet photographer will be on hand throughout the event.

Visitors can also explore the Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park's 45 acres with their dogs during the day.
