Regional bus operator Transdev has announced a new charity partnership with Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance Charity.
The partnership will see Transdev support both organisations through fundraising activities and awareness campaigns throughout the year.
Air ambulance crews provide emergency medical care across the region, responding to serious incidents and delivering specialist treatment at the scene before transporting patients to hospitals and trauma centres when required.
The charities operate thanks to public donations, with fundraising helping to keep their services running.
As part of the partnership, Transdev colleagues will take part in a series of fundraising events, beginning with charity walks at the end of June.
The walks will follow routes regularly travelled by Transdev buses across Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Staff from Transdev’s driving, engineering, office and support teams will take part, with family members also invited to join.
Matt Burley, Transdev Project and Marketing Manager, said the partnership was chosen following feedback from colleagues.
He said:
“We’re proud to have partnered with North West Air Ambulance Charity and Yorkshire Air Ambulance as our charities of the year.
“The organisations were selected following a vote by colleagues across our leadership teams in Yorkshire and Lancashire, with strong support reflecting the importance of the work they do in our communities.
“The partnerships will begin with three charity walks at the end of the month, two in Lancashire and one in Yorkshire, following our bus routes.
“Colleagues and their families will be invited to take part, helping to raise both awareness and funds for the charities.”
Representatives from Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance Charity have also been visiting Transdev depots to speak with staff and share more about their work.

The fundraising activities will continue throughout the year, supporting both air ambulance charities as they provide emergency care across Yorkshire and the North West.
