Ripon's Market Place will host a three-day Christmas market next month, featuring independent traders, festive food and seasonal entertainment.
The Little Bird Ripon Christmas Artisan Market returns from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd November, with traditional wooden huts set around the city’s famous obelisk.
Visitors will be able to browse handcrafted gifts, seasonal decorations and bespoke jewellery, alongside food stalls and warm spiced drinks.
Organised by Little Bird Made in partnership with Ripon BID, the event returns for a second year and coincides with Ripon Cathedral’s Christmas Food and Gift Fair on the Friday and Saturday.
Jackie Crozier, Managing Director of Little Bird Made, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring the Ripon Christmas Markets back to the heart of the city for the second year running. Transforming Ripon Market Place into such a festive wonderland housed in beautiful wooden huts creates a truly magical atmosphere for families, locals, and visitors alike.
“It’s a wonderful platform to showcase the incredible talent of our independent makers, creators, and artisans, and we can’t wait to kick off the holiday season with everyone this November.”

Organisers hope the weekend will encourage visitors to explore Ripon’s independent shops, cafes and hospitality venues alongside the markets.
Lilla Bathurst, Manager of Ripon BID, said:
“Christmas markets are a huge driver of footfall for town and city centres, and Ripon is no exception.
"Our Ripon BID and Little Bird Made Artisan Christmas Market is expected to bring many people into the city to enjoy high-quality makers, festive atmosphere and the chance to discover something truly unique.
“For the second year running it is especially exciting as it’s Ripon’s full Christmas market and fair weekend, with the Cathedral Christmas Food and Gift Fair also running on the Friday and Saturday.”
She added:
“We’re delighted to work closely with Little Bird Made and the Cathedral team to promote Ripon as a destination for artisan gifts, independent shopping and festive experiences.
"Together, we’re showcasing the very best of Ripon at Christmas - and giving visitors more reasons to spend the day in our beautiful city.”
Natalie Deeley, owner of The Kandlers Table, encouraged shoppers to support independent businesses during the festive season.
Natalie said:
“This has got to be the best Artisan Christmas Market in Yorkshire. There is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for gorgeous handcrafted gifts and unique decorations, enjoying seasonal food and live entertainment, there is truly something for everyone.
“Come along and support small independent businesses this Christmas. You won’t be disappointed.”
More information about the market and booking a stall is available on the Little Bird Made website.
