National recognition for Harrogate's floral displays

Harrogate BID's Floral Summer of Celebration has been shortlisted at the National BID Awards.

Harrogate BID has been shortlisted for a national award for its summer floral trail.

The organisation’s Floral Summer of Celebration is a finalist in the Best Event of the Year category at the National BID Awards 2027.

This year’s trail featured eight displays across the town centre, celebrating Harrogate’s horticultural heritage and the 60th anniversary of Harrogate International Festivals.

The installations encouraged people to explore shopping streets and hospitality venues, helping draw visitors towards local businesses.

Harrogate BID Chief Executive Jason Maxwell said:

“We’re incredibly proud of what the team and everyone involved has achieved.”

He said the nomination recognised the work behind the trail and its role in keeping Harrogate’s floral traditions alive.

Partners included Harrogate International Festivals, Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce, Helen James Flowers, Horticap and town centre businesses.

The displays also formed part of Harrogate’s Yorkshire in Bloom entry.

The awards recognise projects delivered by Business Improvement Districts across the country to support businesses and improve their local areas.

Winners will be announced at the Leonardo Royal London City Hotel on Monday 8th February 2027.
