A private coaching session with Sir Gareth Southgate is among the experiences up for grabs at this year’s Martin House Glitter Ball in Harrogate.
The former England manager will give one junior football team of up to 20 players a 90-minute session, offering expert coaching, advice and encouragement.
The experience will be auctioned live at Rudding Park on Friday 16th October, as supporters gather to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Sir Gareth, who is an ambassador for the charity, is also due to attend the event.
The coaching session will take place at a mutually agreed Yorkshire location and on a suitable date, with the experience valid until 17th October 2027.
Organisers said:
“Give a young football team the chance to enjoy an unforgettable 90-minute coaching session with one of the most respected and recognisable names in football.”
The other live auction lots are:
- A Leeds Rhinos experience for a family of five: Attend a 2027 training day, watch the first team, take part in coaching activities and enjoy a buffet lunch with players and staff.
- An Oracle Red Bull Racing factory tour for six: A 90-minute guided visit to the team’s Milton Keynes headquarters, including refreshments and a gift bag for each guest.
- A seven-night holiday in St Ives for up to six guests: Stay at Sail Lofts’ Slipway townhouse, overlooking Porthmeor Beach. School holidays and travel are excluded.
- Sponsorship of a Martin House Supercar Day: Help provide passenger rides and a special day for children and families supported by the hospice.
- An Emmerdale experience for two: Tour the programme’s internal studio sets and have lunch with actor Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle.
People unable to attend can arrange a proxy bid for the live auction by calling 07741 639469.

A separate £10 prize draw offers a two-night stay for four people in a luxury lakeside lodge at Rudding Park, complete with a hot tub.
The prize package includes:
- Dinner with paired drinks at FIFTY TWO.
- A barbecue dinner cooked by chefs at the lodge.
- Four hours’ access to the Roof Top Spa.
- Woodland Spring Bathing.
- A Rasul Experience.
- A four-ball on the 18-hole Hawtree Course.
- A four-ball on the Repton Short Course.
- Unlimited balls during a two-hour TrackMan driving range bay session.
The draw closes during the event on Friday 16th October. Entrants must be aged 18 or over and live in Great Britain.
The stay is subject to availability and exclusions, including August, bank holidays and the Christmas period, and must be taken by 17th October 2027.
Supporters can also bid in a separate online silent auction.
Hosted by Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood, the Glitter Ball will feature a three-course dinner, live entertainment, fundraising games and dancing.
HARIBO UK is the event’s headline sponsor.
Last year’s ball raised £212,000 – enough to fund two clinical nurse specialists for two years.
Money raised will help Martin House provide specialist care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions, alongside support for their families across West, North and East Yorkshire.
