Harrogate forward Abraham Odoh was the hero on the day after scoring an 80th-minute winner, ending his own 20-game goal drought.
It's the first time he's scored since March following goals from Sam Folarin and George Thomson.
Harrogate Town Manager Simon Weaver said after the game:
"It’s been coming. Performance levels have got better and better in recent weeks and some of the passing was superb.
"We just needed to add that edge and creativity in the final third and I thought we saw that today."
The result leaves Town in 18th place with ten points whilst Salford City slip to 21st in League Two.
