Organisers of Knaresborough Christmas Market are inviting new stallholders to take part in this year's event.
The traditional Christmas Market will return on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December, bringing stalls, gifts, produce and festive entertainment to the town.
Organisers are looking to build on the market's reputation by introducing more variety, with applications particularly welcomed from arts and crafts businesses and those selling high-quality handmade goods and local or regional products.
Market Chair Bill Taylor said:
“We’re always delighted with the positive feedback we get from stallholders and visitors following the market.
“However, this year we’d love to bring even more variety to the event by also inviting new stall holders to apply.
“We’re particularly interested in original Arts & Crafts or high quality hand crafted goods, products of local and regional excellence and stalls that enhance the seasonal atmosphere of the market.”
Demand for pitches is already strong, with all of the market's gold-tier stalls sold out.
A small number of silver and bronze stalls remain available, while organisers are also offering sponsorship opportunities to local businesses.
Committee member Charlotte Gale said:
“Knaresborough is gaining something of a reputation as a festive destination, with the director of last year’s star-studded movie, Tinsel Town, describing the town as the ideal ‘chocolate box’ location for the movie.
“We’re hoping this has a knock on effect for our market this year and the town’s fantastic local independent businesses.
“Early indications are good, as we’re seeing increasing demand for stalls year on year.
“Whilst we still have a few silver and bronze level stalls available, our gold tier stalls have already sold out well ahead of time.
“We also have some excellent affordable sponsorship opportunities available for any local businesses wanting to raise their profile at one of the town’s most popular events.”
Applications and further information are available through the Knaresborough Christmas Market website.
Hot food stalls will be by invitation only this year.
