Pupils at Ashville College in Harrogate are celebrating another strong set of A Level results, with leavers securing places at universities and organisations across the UK and overseas.
The Class of 2026 will take up opportunities ranging from Medicine and engineering to sport, performing arts and business, alongside sought-after degree apprenticeships.
Deputy Head Boy Ben Harrison has secured a degree apprenticeship with EY (Ernst & Young), becoming the second Ashville pupil in consecutive years to earn a position with the global professional services firm.
Ben said:
“Getting a degree apprenticeship with EY is an incredible opportunity and I’m proud to have secured my place and be part of their world.
“It’s an exciting launchpad for my career, gaining hands-on experience with such a global organisation while working towards my degree. It feels like the perfect next step, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Fellow pupil Lennon Marsch, son of former Leeds United manager and Canada Head Coach Jesse Marsch, has secured a place at the University of Bath to study Sports Management.
Other pupils are heading further afield, with Ida Zenner and Layla Henry set to study Medicine in Germany and the United States respectively.
Magnus Chisholm will study Business at CODE University in Berlin, while Ebube Ofoegbu is heading to Rice University in Texas.
Closer to home, pupils have secured places at universities including Durham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, York, Bath, Sheffield and Loughborough.
STEM destinations include Amelia Precious studying Materials Science and Engineering at Manchester and Sophie Carling taking up a place to study Chemical Engineering at Sheffield.
Performing arts pupils Grace Illingworth and Toby Hyde are both heading to Manchester, while Jasmine Taylor will study Fashion Buying and Merchandising in the city.
Connie Tasker will study Sport and Exercise Science at Durham, while Olivia Sumpton is heading to Loughborough to read Mathematics and Sports Science.
Head of Ashville Rhiannon Wilkinson said:
“Today, a milestone day for our pupils, marks a proud moment for our school community.
“Everyone is delighted to see pupils pursue UK and international destinations and courses that genuinely reflect their passions and strengths, whether in STEM, the arts, business, sport or the humanities.
“These grades reflect years of hard work and focus from a wonderful cohort. They have earned the rewards that will propel them to their next steps.
“They leave Ashville as confident, capable young people ready to embrace exciting futures across a wide range of industries and professions.”
Mrs Wilkinson also thanked staff and families for their support and said the school looked forward to following the pupils' future successes.
