Harrogate woman is unexpected star on Michael McIntyre's Big Show A Harrogate singer was the ‘unexpected star of the show’ on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show over the weekend. Sarah Collins was selected to perform on stage at the Theatre Royal for the BBC show, which aired on Saturday night (27th January). She was nominated by her husband, Tom, to perform in front of 2,000 people - as well as the millions watching at home. Sarah sang her favourite song, ‘How do I Live?’ by LeAnn Rimes before being joined by the singer herself for a duet. Speaking to Michael McIntyre after the performance, Sarah, who was visibly shocked, said:
“It was such a surprise and LeAnn Rimes! The icon! Oh my goodness. “It feels like I’m in a dream. It’s like the best dream ever and I never want to wake up. Thank you.”Sarah was lead to believe she was going to a country-themed bar in London before climbing atop a rodeo bull for a photo. The wall then collapsed to reveal the Theatre Royal audience, which included her children Lily and Freddie, and host Michael McIntyre. Shortly after her surgery she started a YouTube channel as part of her therapy, which now has more than 45,000 subscribers. Writing on her YouTube profile, Sarah said:
“I’m very lucky and thankful that I am still here and able to enjoy singing and share my voice with you. “Since being unwell, I inherited a fantastic vinyl collection of all the songs I grew up listening to, so I decided to share these fabulous songs with you all!”Find Sarah’s YouTube page here.
