Harrogate Town have announced the signing of talented forward Ciaran McGuckin on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old had come through the ranks at Rotherham, spending the past 12 years with The Millers before departing this Summer.
McGuckin said:
“I’m really happy to be here, The Gaffer has outlined everything about the club and why my profile is a good fit here.
“I’m really grateful for my time at Rotherham, they brought me in as a youngster and made me the man I am today, but I’m fitter, hungrier and ready to go now.
“The most important thing for me now is to be playing regularly and showing people what I’m about, how I can excite fans and change games of football.”
McGuckin made his professional debut for the club in 2021 and has also gained first team experience out on loan at Scarborough, Dundalk, Yeovil and Eastleigh.

At Yeovil, McGuckin was named Young Player of the Season, prompting Eastleigh to snap up his services for the following season, though after a promising start to the season, the striker suffered a serious injury and returned to his parent club.
The Pontefract born forward has represented Northern Ireland up to Under 21 level and will be a great fit according to Head of Player Recruitment Lloyd Kerry.
“He’s a young, hungry lad and one we think can really develop here.
“We want to be an energetic team and he brings high energy, presses well and leaves everything out on the pitch.”
Ciaran will wear the number 35 shirt and will officially join on 1st July, subject to relevant governing bodies approval.
