Harrogate pupils line the streets to support parent's ultra marathon fundraiser Pupils and staff at All Saints Primary School lined the streets to show their support for a local man’s mammoth fundraising challenge. Kevin Easley, whose daughter Cordelia attends All Saints, is running seven ultra marathons in seven days. His runs will take him around the Harrogate, York and Leeds areas as he raises money for Crohn’s and Colitis UK - a cause close to his heart. And on Wednesday (13th March), he ran past All Saints Primary in Kirkby Overblow to see the children lined along the street to support him. Kevin said:
“It was lovely and quite emotional to be cheered on by all the pupils at my daughter’s school, All Saints Primary School in Kirkby Overblow. “I had already done a few hours running at that point and I was in need of a boost, which the sight of the whole school cheering me on certainly was.”[caption id="attachment_104179" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] All Saints pupils showing their support for Kevin.[/caption] Speaking about the challenge, he added:
“Approximately 20 years ago I battled with Ulcerative Colitis ending in surgery that resulted in having a Stoma bag fitted, that I live with today. “This can be challenging at times and is a life changing operation, and something I am keen to raise awareness of whilst supporting this charity.”Amber Andrews, Headteacher for The Fellowship of All Saints and North Rigton CE Primary Schools, said:
“We are very proud of Cordelia's Dad and everything he has achieved and we are happy to carry on supporting him in any way we can, especially when we can cheer him on as he passes our school! “Well done Kevin - keep on going!’[caption id="attachment_104180" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Kevin is fundraising for Crohn's and Colitis UK.[/caption] You can donate to support Kevin and Crohns and Colitis UK at https://www.justgiving.com/page/kevin-easley-1706263785529 Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
