Local MP Tom Gordon has heaped praise on the Harrogate Stray Association following 93 years of "dedicated service to the community."
Tom Gordon, the Liberal Democrat MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, tabled an Early Days Motion, marking the Association on the official record in Westminster, and used it the opportunity to congratulate the group on their continued hard work.
The motion also recognises the group’s renaming from the Stray Defence Association to the Harrogate Stray Association - a change which reflects its “proactive, community focused mission”.
It marked the wider importance of “preserving accessible public green spaces and historic landscapes”, with the Stray acting as a vital example of cherished community parkland.
Tom said:
“Almost a century of dedicated service to our community is no mean feat and I commend their commitment to protecting the 200 acres of open green space at the heart of our town.”
