Harrogate-based estate agency Verity Frearsons has donated brand-new football goals to Saltergate Schools in recognition of the outstanding success of the school’s U11 girls’ football team.

This season, the team scored 68 goals across three competitions and reached the National Finals of the ESFA Pokémon Primary Cup for the second consecutive year.

The girls showed “great skill, determination, teamwork and pure grit” to win their regional final 3–1 before going on to represent Saltergate and Red Kite Learning Trust at the National Finals held at Stoke City FC’s stadium.

To celebrate the donation, Year 6 pupils, including both the boys’ and girls’ football teams, took part in a special photo shoot with representatives from Verity Frearsons before trying out the new goals during football games on the school field.

Matthew Stamford, Managing Director at Verity Frearsons, said:

“We were delighted to be able to support the school by funding the new football goal posts and to celebrate the amazing success of the girls’ football team.

"Reaching the National Finals for the first time is a fantastic achievement and something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.

He added:

“As a local business, we’re passionate about supporting our community and giving young people opportunities to enjoy sport, build confidence and create lasting memories.

"We hope the new goals will be enjoyed by pupils for many years to come and help inspire the next generation of football stars.”

The new goals will support PE lessons, breaktimes and extracurricular sport, helping Saltergatecontinue to strengthen its sporting provision and inspire the next generation of footballers.

Lisa Tremble, PE teacher and football coach, said:

“A huge thank you to Matthew and everyone at Verity Frearsons for their incredibly generous donation.

"Thanks to their support, our school has been able to purchase some fantastic new football goals, providing even more opportunities for our pupils to enjoy sport and develop their skills.”
