Local volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help keep Valley Gardens looking its best during a community litter pick.
The event, held on Saturday (20th June), was organised by Harrogate Town Council in partnership with Friends of Valley Gardens as part of the Great Get Together Clean Up – a national initiative led by Keep Britain Tidy and The Jo Cox Foundation.
Volunteers collected litter from around the New Zealand Gardens, Japanese Gardens, Sun Pavilion and tennis courts, helping to prepare the popular park for the busy summer season.
The litter pick was led by Valley Gardens ward councillor Tom Martin and follows a series of similar community clean-up events held earlier this year.
Tom Martin, Harrogate Town Councillor for Valley Gardens Ward, said:
“I was delighted to see local people willing to give up their time on a Saturday morning and take part in our own Great Get Together Clean Up.
“The event is intended to be a celebration of everything that connects our communities. Beautiful public spaces such as the Valley Gardens certainly do just that and we are lucky to have it on our doorstep.
“The Town Council would like to thank everyone who came along and helped ensure Valley Gardens remains tidy for both local families and visitors to Harrogate as we head into the summer.”
