Harrogate BID launch two job opportunities after feedback from businesses Harrogate BID has announced two new job opportunities after listening to feedback from BID Members and business needs in the town. The BID (Business Improvement District) team is looking to expand with two additional roles – Town Centre Support Officer and a second Harrogate Street Ranger. After carrying out lengthy research, the BID believes that the two new additions will benefit the not-for-profit organisation’s work towards achieving the three new objectives – ‘Pride in our town’, ‘A vibrant town’ and ‘Voice and Vision’ – leading to accomplishing the overall Business Plan for it’s second term over the next five years. They will add an extra uniformed presence on the streets of Harrogate, alongside providing clear communication and a ‘can do’ attitude. Some of the day-to day-duties will include working as the eyes and ears on the ground looking to share and provide a clear line of communication to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. They will also provide a roaming security presence, linking to the town centre radio and CCTV system, looking to reduce shoplifting, retrieving stolen goods and helping North Yorkshire Police with incidents, as well as supporting and communicating key projects. Meanwhile, the new Harrogate Street Ranger will join Chris Ashby, who currently works in a similar role, to continue to make Harrogate clean, attractive and a great place to be.
