From beatboxing and Indian dancing to circus skills and spectacular science, a popular family festival is returning to Harrogate later this month.
The Family Festival will take place in the Spiegeltent in Crescent Gardens on 27th and 28th June, bringing together a packed programme of performances and interactive activities for children of all ages.
The weekend begins on Saturday morning with SPRUNG, an early years theatre experience featuring puppetry, songs and storytelling designed for babies and toddlers.
Later in the day, families can join The Big Beatbox Jam, an interactive workshop led by flautist and beatboxer James. Audience members will have the chance to contribute sounds, try the microphone and help create a live music track.
The Saturday programme also includes a family ceilidh from Cut A Shine, with live music, simple dance instructions and plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved.
On Sunday, families can explore Indian dance through a colourful workshop featuring traditional sarees and scarves.
Circus Leeds will then bring its mix of strongman stunts, daring feats and record-breaking tricks to the Spiegeltent, followed by a hands-on workshop for children and adults.
Science fans can enjoy Sublime Science: Magic Tricks & Spectacular Science, a family show featuring experiments including Giant Smoke Rings, Mini Rockets and foam volcanoes.
The weekend concludes with the Baby Broadway Family Concert, featuring West End performers, bubbles, puppets and dance routines aimed at younger children.
Sharon Canavar, Chief Executive of Harrogate International Festivals, said:
“The Family Festival is a fantastic, fun-filled way of encouraging our children to explore the world around them.
“And I can’t think of a better setting than the Spiegeltent from which to stimulate young minds and help them discover the joy that music, dance, science and storytelling can bring.”
The Family Festival takes place at the Spiegeltent in Crescent Gardens on 27th and 28th June.
Tickets for all events are priced at £7 and are available via the Harrogate International Festivals website or by calling the Box Office on 01423 562303.
