Students at Ripon Grammar School are celebrating a stellar set of A-level results, with eight achieving four A* grades or more.
More than 70 per cent of all grades at the school were awarded at A*-B, while more than 40 per cent were at A* or A.
The school said the vast majority of its 164 students have secured places on their first-choice degree courses.
Top performer Nekha Abraham, 18, from Ripon, achieved four A* grades at A-level as well as an A* in her extended project qualification (EPQ).
Overall, students at Ripon Grammar achieved 105 A* grades and have secured places on a wide range of competitive university courses.
These include aerospace engineering, architecture, cosmetic science, law, medicine, music, physics, philosophy and sports psychology.
Headmaster Jonathan Webb said:
“We are immensely proud of our students, they have worked exceptionally hard, supported by our dedicated staff and their families.
“These results are a wonderful reward for that commitment and the determination, resilience and hard work they have shown throughout their time at Ripon Grammar School.
“It is particularly pleasing to see students achieving the very highest grades alongside the many different individual successes across the year group.
“We wish them every success as they take their next steps, whether at university or into the world of work.”
Students will now head to universities across the UK and overseas, with many securing places at Russell Group universities.
Among the other top performers were 18-year-olds Monty Bleiker, Anson Fong and Clement Pang, all from Ripon, Will Keens, from Easingwold, and Nancy Manners, from near Thirsk, who each achieved four A*s.
Annabel Cochrane, 18, from Darlington, and Evy Reed, 18, from Ripon, achieved three As alongside an A in their EPQs.
A further five students achieved at least three A* grades.
