Councillor calls for answers over Knaresborough EE coverage

A Knaresborough councillor is calling for answers from EE following continued reports of poor mobile coverage across the town.

Councillor Matt Walker has contacted EE and North Yorkshire Council after residents raised concerns about unreliable signal.

EE has now asked customers to provide their full postcodes so its Complex Network Team can assess local network performance and identify any faults or coverage problems.

The company’s Executive Team said:

“We appreciate your concerns regarding the reported mobile coverage issues in Knaresborough and understand the importance of reliable mobile service, particularly where there may be implications for public safety and access to emergency services.

“To enable our Complex Network Team to complete a detailed assessment, could you please provide some specific full postcodes for the areas where residents are experiencing issues?

“This will allow us to review local network performance, identify any known faults or coverage concerns, and provide a more accurate response.”

EE customers experiencing poor coverage in Knaresborough are being asked to email their full postcode to cllr.matt.walker@northyorks.org.uk.

Residents should not publish their postcodes on Facebook or other public platforms.

Councillor Walker said only postcodes would be shared with EE, with no names, contact details or other personal information passed on.

The information will be used solely to investigate mobile coverage problems and will be deleted once the investigation is complete.

He said:

“Reliable mobile coverage is vital, particularly when residents need to contact family, access services or reach the emergency services in an emergency.

“Thank you to everyone who has already got in touch. I will continue to press EE for answers and will keep residents updated as soon as I receive further information.”
