Viral pub crawler returns to Knaresborough pubs

Review at Mother Shiptons Inn (Facebook @GreatBritishPubCrawl)

The creator behind The Great British Pub Crawl returned to Knaresborough as part of a long-running national project documenting pubs across the UK.

The visit marked the first trip back to the town in around 18 months, with the aim of revisiting well-known pubs and exploring village venues nearby.

The influencer said the return was partly to capture the town in a calmer setting.

Pubs revisited in Knaresborough included:

  • Mother Shipton’s Inn
  • The Mitre
  • Track & Sleeper
  • Blind Jacks
  • Six Poor Folk
  • The Cross Keys

The creator noted traditional features, beer ranges and atmosphere, describing Mother Shipton’s Inn as “absolutely beautiful and a real ‘must see’ kind of place,” and said Blind Jacks “recently won the top beer award at the Great British Pub Awards.”

Blind Jacks sponsored the visit, with the influencer thanking the venue, saying:

“Huge thanks to the guys at Blind Jacks for sponsoring the crawl and giving me the chance to get back sooner than I'd anticipated being able to.”

The visit continued into nearby villages, taking in pubs in Goldsborough, Coneythorpe, Arkendale, Ferrensby, Staveley and Minskip.

Venues included The Bay Horse, The Tiger Inn, The Blue Bell, The General Tarleton, The Royal Oak and The Wild Swan.

Descriptions shared on the crawl highlighted food menus, character features, and the atmosphere in each location.

The creator remarked of one pub: “Lovely folks at the helm of the place and I really think this will do very well.”

Reflecting on the area, the influencer commented:

“Knaresborough is such a wonderful town and the local villages provide a real great mix of top notch food pubs.”

The stop in Knaresborough and its surroundings brought the running total of pubs visited as part of the project to 7,617.

Videos of the visit and previous trips to the area are available on the creator’s social media and YouTube channel.
