Harrogate Town are giving supporters the chance to test their shooting skills at half-time – with hundreds of pounds in local gift cards up for grabs.
The club has announced the launch of a new Crossbar Challenge as part of its ongoing Town Rewards scheme, offering fans the opportunity to win Harrogate Gift Cards courtesy of Harrogate BID.
The initiative begins at Saturday’s home fixture against Bromley, when one supporter will be selected at random to take a shot from the edge of the D during the half-time interval.
If the chosen participant hits the crossbar, they will win a Harrogate Gift Card. The prize can be spent in almost 100 shops, restaurants and businesses across the town, including the Harrogate Town club shop, meaning the scheme supports both the club and the wider local economy.

The prize fund will start at £100 for the Bromley game. If the crossbar is not struck, an additional £100 will be added to the pot for the next home fixture. With seven home matches remaining this season, the jackpot could reach £700 by the final game if no one hits the target.
Once the bar is successfully struck, the prize will reset to £100 for the following match.
Bethany Allen, Harrogate BID Operations Manager, said:
“We are really excited to be partnering with Harrogate Town again for their Town Rewards programme.
“It is a really great initiative that rewards their loyal fans and we are so pleased they have chosen the Harrogate Gift Card to be their partner, meaning the initiative also supports local businesses and the local economy.”
The challenge is open to Harrogate Town supporters aged 14 and over who hold a valid match ticket. Fans must complete an online entry form to be in with a chance of being selected.
Those chosen will be notified ahead of matchday and must confirm their place before 12pm on the day prior to the game.
At half-time, the selected supporter will be escorted onto the pitch at the Exercise Stadium to take their attempt in front of the crowd. In addition to the main prize, consolation prizes will also be available.

Harrogate Gift Cards can be used at a wide range of town centre businesses, including restaurants, cafés, shops and service providers.
Supporters are encouraged to enter ahead of Saturday’s match against Bromley tomorrow (21st February). Those selected will be emailed a form which must be completed before 12pm.
The club says it will provide weekly updates on the current prize value and share news of winners and near-misses on social media.
Terms and conditions apply. Participants must be aged 14 or over. Full details are available on the Harrogate Town website.
