Starbeck Tandoori has won the regional Restaurant of the Year title at the Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards.
The team from the High Street restaurant, which opened in 1999, collected the award at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel on Sunday (1st November).
Four restaurants were in the running for the North East and Yorkshire title.
Starbeck Tandoori faced competition from two Darlington restaurants, Babul’s and Café Spice, as well as Vadah in Stockton-on-Tees.
Judges considered the quality and presentation of the food, the welcome diners received and how consistently each restaurant delivered across food and service.
Oli Khan MBE, president of the Bangladesh Caterers Association, said:
“Congratulations to Starbeck Tandoori on a thoroughly deserved win.
“Their achievement reflects the talent, commitment and resilience that continue to drive British Bangladeshi hospitality forward.”
