Royal recognition for Harrogate care company

Oliver Stirk of Carefound Home Care and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

A Harrogate-based home care company has been presented with a prestigious award by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

Oliver Stirk, Managing Director of Carefound Home Care, was presented with the Princess Royal Training Award by HRH The Princess Royal.

The Princess Royal Training Awards are the UK and Ireland’s premier awards programme for recognising training excellence.

Carefound Home Care was one of 56 outstanding employers recognised at a ceremony at Fishmongers Hall in London on Tuesday 2nd December, where HRH The Princess Royal presented the awards.

The home care provider, whose headquarters are in Harrogate, received the award for their care professional pathway, a 6-month programme designed to ensure their care professionals are competent and confident in supporting older people to remain at home.

Oliver Stirk, Managing Director of Carefound Home Care, said:

“It was a huge honour to receive this most prestigious training award from HRH The Princess Royal on behalf of everybody at Carefound Home Care.

“The assessment process was rigorous, but we were very proud to be able to demonstrate how our care professional pathway has helped us reduce hospital admissions amongst our clients, improve staff retention, and grow our service.”

“We also know how important it is to the families we support that our care professionals are trained to the highest standards, and this Royal recognition shows how hard our team works to achieve this.”

This year marks 10 years of the Princess Royal Training Awards and recipients came from a vibrant mix of sectors, from construction and hospitality to education, health and social care.

Dame Ann Limb DBE DL, Chair of City & Guilds Foundation, said:

“The Princess Royal Training Awards recognise the critical importance of skills training and the value these skills provide for employers.”

“Having been assessed against rigorous standards, these organisations join our ‘best-in-class’ alumni. Congratulations to all organisations achieving this Royal recognition.”

“We look forward to continuing to celebrate and recognise even more organisations who believe in, and deliver, excellent learning and development programmes.”
