A service of remembrance took place this week for those killed and seriously injured on the roads of North Yorkshire.
The Oakleaf service was held at Ripon Cathedral on Monday (17th November).
Family and friends attended to remember their sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandchildren, grandparents, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, partners and friends.
During the service, messages from loved ones of those who have been left behind were placed on Oak Leaves and brought forward.
North Yorkshire Police's Assistant Chief Constable, Ben Moseley, also delivered a reading on behalf of North Yorkshire Police.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
"Today’s service served as a stark reminder of the scale of the impact that road traffic deaths and injuries have. Our officers alongside other emergency services are often the first at the scene of a serious collision.
"Sadly, we see first-hand the devastating impact these incidents have on communities."
As a mark of respect all three emergency services were represented.
From the Fire Service, Area Manager Ben Illsley, from the Ambulance Service, Area Operations Manager Laura Young and Team Lead for Ripon Paul Fairclough along with Assistant Chief Constable Ben Moseley from North Yorkshire Police.
