It’s part of the national Op Drive Insured week-long campaign of “enhanced proactivity” to identify uninsured motorists. Officers on patrol are using ANPR and in-car technology to ensure offenders are brought to justice. A police spokesperson said:
“At a time when austerity is high, vehicle insurance is not a cut back you can afford to make.”In a 3-hour window in York, officers seized four vehicles and arrested one uninsured driver on suspicion of drug driving.
