There will be no train services running through Harrogate and Knaresborough on selected days next week due to RMT union strike action.
More train strikes to cause disruption in Harrogate next week Rail passengers in Harrogate will experience yet more disruption to journeys next week due to strike action. Train operator Northern has announced strike action from the RMT union will take place on Thursday 20th, Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th July. Northern have not yet announced how services will be affected but have told passengers to expect "major" disruption. There will also be action short of strike from ASLEF from Monday 17th until Saturday 22nd July which is also expected to impact some journeys - particularly on Friday (21st). The unions have been striking over pay and conditions. A Northern spokesperson said:
“On strike days, only travel by rail if necessary and if you do travel, expect severe disruption and plan ahead – especially the first and last trains of the day. “Remember to check your entire journey as other train service providers may be affected.”Daily tickets such as Anytime or Off-Peak can claim a full refund with no admin fee if you decide not to travel from point of purchase. Season and flexi ticket users can get a refund on the portion of the season ticket not used, as per the standard refund policy. See Northern Refunds page for more details.
